Wales Retreat - April 2000
Following
the annual conference of teh British Association for American Studies,
which was held at the University of Wales, Swansea, the Andrew Hook Centre
hosted the second of the biennial retreats. Participants included Michael
Bellesiles (Emory University), Susan Branson (University of Texas, Dallas),
Susan Castillo (University of Glasgow), Bill Deverell (California Institute
of Technology), Susan Klepp (Rider University), Sarah Knott (University
of Oxford), Marina Moskowitz (University of Glasgow), Simon Newman (University
of Glasgow), Leslie Patrick (Bucknell University), Billy Smith (Montana
State University), Enjoying the wonderful weather and scenery on the Gower
Peninsular, participants exhanged ideas about research and teaching and
relied on Professor Smith for wine at the end of each hike.
