INITIAL CALL FOR PAPERS

Located in Glasgow, one of the largest and most magnificent of Irish diaspora cities, our hope is this conference will in every sense highlight the international dimension of IASIL.

Alongside papers that bring to the fore the international outreach of Irish literatures, we warmly welcome papers which address translation in all its aspects, or which are comparative, or which consider diaspora culture or other transnational configurations.

IASIL’s commitment is to advancing scholarly research into all and every area of Irish literatures, taking literatures in the widest and most plural sense. We are glad to note this includes Irish language literature in its many versions, together with film, song, and the press, as well as drama, poetry, epic and fiction in all the Englishes Ireland has made her own.
