Members
of IBDS researching and publishing in the field of Francophone
bande dessinée and international comic art have, since the
Society’s inception in 1999, successfully raised the profile
of bande dessinée in the field of French Studies and
related disciplines. Members have participated at conferences both
in Britain and abroad, have contributed articles to several of the
field’s most prestigious journals and authored chapters for
edited books. Several members are currently preparing monographs
for publication.
