Whether you are in education or business, a command of written English will be essential to your success. ARIES is designed to help you achieve competence in written style. It consists of a set of self-contained units each focusing on a problem area through a mixture of explanation and interactive exercises.
Key parts of some Units are offered at two levels, one giving explanations in everyday English and the other using appropriate linguistic terminology. There is also a Spelling Reference Unit.
The main parts of ARIES are:
- basic punctuation - sentence structure and commas
- the apostrophe - for indicating possession and contraction
- further punctuation - less common punctuation marks
- spelling - a look at some helpful spelling rules
- spelling reference - listing commonly mis-spelled words and words where American and British English spellings differ.
