decline in accordance with these paradigms; however, there are a number of nouns
which deviate a little from these models. Any deviation from these models which
appear in the Texts is noted in the Glossary.
5. General Masculine Declension

Many masculine nouns are declined on this pattern, eg. cyning KING, bāt BOAT, hlāf LOAF, hlāford LORD. Many other masculine nouns are declined in almost the same way as this declension, but with minor modifications.
